BIG DIY TRY

Trying to wing the floor plans ourselves.

sans-titre

This weekend we took all the measurements of Our Tour with the aid of a Laser Liner distance measurement scanner that a friend lent to us.  Our friend told us it was really easy to use, and boy was he right. All you have to do is set it up against a wall and point.

I also uploaded Edraw Max, a software program to make floor plans with, and we’re going to see how much of this I’ll be able to do myself. The program looks really easy and since I use a lot of basic geometry in my job as a tech designer, I might be able to pull this off. We have friends that are architectural drafters that will be able to review the plans and further consult us on the placement of electricity, waste and water lines.

When I was a kid, I loved playing architect and making up floor plans of imaginary homes. But this is for real. And this is kinda scary.
