DIY leather slippers for toddler girl.
Last Christmas we had a family photo shoot with my dear friend Lucia. I wanted to make my daughter some cute ballerina styled slippers for the occasion and didn’t have a lot of time.
After perusing the internet, I found this link from Martha Stewart for some super adorable felt baby shoes.
I used their template as a basic concept form, but modified the shape, making it longer and narrower for my older baby’s feet. I added a loop to the top back to insert the tie and finished the top slipper edge with a braid. Since I was working with suede leather and tulle, I didn’t need to seam finish the edges and kept the edges raw cut. To finish, I decorated them with some pre-made fabric flowers.
Result: Super cute, but my girl enjoyed playing with them more than wearing them. They are now hanging from her dresser and make for some adorable decorations.
